Kal Ho Naa Ho

Naina Catherine Kapur, a pessimistic, uptight Punjabi American business student, lives in New York City with her widowed mother Jennifer, a Punjabi Christian, and her family. Her life changes when her charismatic neighbor Aman Mathur, who charms her troubled family, falls for her but has a secret that forces him to push her away. Aman's cheerfulness gradually wins over Naina's family, and he slowly starts to solve their problems, encouraging Naina to be happy and to live life to the fullest. As Naina falls in love with Aman, Rohit Patel, her best friend, also falls for her, but Aman's fatal heart condition prevents him from reciprocating her feelings, leading to a complicated web of love, friendship, and family secrets.
