Driving Lessons

Seventeen-year-old Ben Marshall is a shy teenager struggling with his overbearing mother, Laura, who performs numerous charitable acts while ignoring her family's emotional needs. He finds solace in writing poetry and reading it to his crush, Sarah, but ultimately discovers a new sense of purpose when he begins working for a retired actress, Dame Evie Walton, who becomes a mentor to him. Through their road trip to the Edinburgh International Book Festival, Evie helps Ben find the inner strength to stand up for himself and honor his commitments.
