The Staircase Murders

The Staircase Murders is a 2007 Lifetime television film that follows Michael Peterson, a successful novelist and aspiring politician (played by Treat Williams), as he becomes the prime suspect in his wife's alleged murder after calling 911 to report her accident. As the investigation unfolds, dark secrets about Michael's past come to light, including a similar death of a friend whose children he would later adopt. Based on Aphrodite Jones' book A Perfect Husband, the film was written by Jones and Donald Martin and directed by Tom McLoughlin.
