Jay Height (Maika Monroe), a college student, is pursued by a supernatural entity after a sexual encounter, which was passed on to her through intercourse. She tries to evade it with the help of her friends and a neighbor, but it relentlessly follows her, taking various forms and manipulating its victims into passing it on to others.
