In the Cut

Frannie Avery, an introverted writing professor in New York City, meets her student Cornelius at a local pub to discuss coursework, where she witnesses a shocking crime scene. Detective Giovanni Malloy questions Frannie as he investigates the gruesome murder of a young woman whose severed limb was found in her garden. As their investigation unfolds, Frannie finds herself drawn to Malloy's intensity, but begins to suspect that he may be hiding a dark secret, and that her own life is in danger.
