Nowhere Boy

The film follows the teenage years of John Lennon, played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson, from 1955 to 1960. John is separated from his mother, Julia, when he is five, and his aunt and uncle, Mimi and George Smith, raise him like a son. John becomes curious about his mother, who has since had three daughters, one of whom was placed for adoption. He becomes obsessed with rock and roll music during a visit to Blackpool with Julia, and she teaches him how to play the banjo. John forms a band named the Quarrymen, which gains popularity, and he meets Paul McCartney and George Harrison, who become his bandmates.
