Ida

In 1960s Poland, young novice nun Anna is on the verge of taking her vows when she discovers a family secret dating back to the years of the German occupation. She travels to Warsaw to see her aunt Wanda, a chain-smoking, hard-drinking, sexually promiscuous state prosecutor and former communist resistance fighter. Wanda reveals that Anna's actual name is Ida Lebenstein, and that she was raised in a convent after her Jewish parents were murdered late in the German occupation during World War II. Ida asks to see the graves of her parents; Wanda replies that it is unknown where or if they were buried.
