Vals Im Bashir

Ari Folman, an Israeli filmmaker who recently finished his military reserve service, interviews fellow veterans of the 1982 invasion of Lebanon to reconstruct his own memories of his term of service in that conflict. He meets with Boaz Rein-Buskila, an accountant and Israeli Lebanon War veteran suffering from nightmares, who tells Ari about his role in killing dogs to distract villagers from Israeli soldiers. Ari also interviews other soldiers, including Ori Sivan, Carmi Cna'an, Ronny Dayag, and Shmuel Frenkel, and a psychologist, Zahava Solomon, to help revive his own memories. Through these interviews, Ari's memories start to come back into focus, revealing his own experiences in the war, including his time in Beirut.
