Hana-bi

Takeshi Kitano stars as Yoshitaka Nishi, a beleaguered police detective who takes desperate measures to try and set things right in a world gone wrong, after his wife Miyuki (Kayoko Kishimoto) suffers from terminal leukemia and his business partner Horibe (Ren Osugi) is paralyzed. To pay for his wife's care, Nishi borrows from a yakuza loan shark and then robs a bank to clear his debt, leading to a violent shootout with the yakuza.
