La Pianiste

Erika Kohut, a piano professor at the Vienna Music Conservatory, resides with her domineering elderly mother. She meets Walter Klemmer, a young aspiring engineer, at a recital hosted by the Blonskij couple, and he expresses admiration for her talent for classical music. Despite her aloof façade, Erika's sexual repression and loneliness are manifested in her paraphilia, including voyeurism, sadomasochism, and self-harm. Erika is pursued by Walter, who is initially rejected by her but persists in his interest. The two share an appreciation for composers Robert Schumann and Franz Schubert, and their relationship becomes increasingly complicated.
