The Ladykillers

Professor Goldthwaite Higginson Dorr (Tom Hanks) poses as the leader of a band to rob a casino, all under the nose of his unsuspecting landlord, Mrs. Marva Munson (Irma P. Hall), who is initially charmed by the eccentric professor and his pretend musical ensemble. The group of criminals, composed of Lump (Ryan Hurst), Garth Pancake (J.K. Simmons), Gawain MacSam (Marlon Wayans), and The General (Tzi Ma), plan to dig a tunnel through the cellar to break into the underground vault. After a series of mishaps and a visit from the local sheriff, the group manages to break through the wall, but ultimately faces off against Mrs. Munson, who refuses to let them leave with the stolen money, leading to a violent confrontation.
