John Doe: Vigilante

John Doe, played by Jamie Bamber, is an ordinary man driven to take the law into his own hands after the unsolved murder of his wife and daughter. He exacts justice on criminals, filming the process and sending it to the media, which publicizes his actions and inspires a movement in support ("Speak for the Dead") led by investigative journalist Ken Rutherford (Lachy Hulme). As John Doe's notoriety grows, he turns himself in and is tried for 33 murders, but escapes execution by orchestrating a dramatic rescue from the courthouse.
