Shinobi

In feudal Japan, two rival ninja clans, Iga and Kouga, are forced to choose their top five warriors for a deadly fight to the death, setting off a tragic love story between Kouga Gennosuke (Joe Odagiri) and Oboro (Yukie Nakama), who secretly married. As they navigate the treacherous world of ninja politics, they must decide between their duty to their clans and their love for each other. Oboro's desperate bid to save her lover's life leads to a heart-wrenching climax, while the leader of Japan, Tokugawa Ieyasu, is moved by her sacrifice, sparing the ninja villages from destruction.
