Mike Myers plays Charlie MacKenzie, a popular local beat poet, who, after a bad breakup, falls for Harriet Michaels, a butcher, and introduces her to his parents. However, as voracious consumers of sensational tabloids, his parents soon suspect that Harriet is actually a notorious serial killer -- "Mrs. X" -- wanted in connection with a string of bizarre honeymoon killings.
