Cop

LAPD detective Sgt. Lloyd Hopkins, played by James Woods, is a troubled cop with a high arrest record but a notoriety for refusing to follow procedure. After discovering a woman's mutilated body, he collects evidence on his own and tracks down Joanie Pratt, an unsuccessful actress turned drug dealer and escort. Hopkins's investigation leads him to suspect a serial killer, who has killed before, and culminates in a shootout with the killer, played by Bobby Franco, in a high school gym.
