The Stepford Wives

Joanna Eberhart (Nicole Kidman) and her husband Walter Kresby (Matthew Broderick) move to Stepford, Connecticut, where the wives are perfect, dedicated homemakers. Joanna befriends feminist writer Bobbie Markowitz (Bette Midler) and gay architect Roger Bannister (Christopher Walken), and together they witness the eerie transformation of the town's women into conformist, submissive Stepford wives. The town's mysterious all-male organization and high society leaders, including Claire Wellington (Glenn Close) and Mike Wellington (Christopher Walken), are revealed to be behind the sinister transformation.
