Returning home to visit their ill grandfather, two estranged brothers, Rahul (Fawad Khan) and Arjun (Sidharth Malhotra), must confront their unresolved rivalry while their parents’ marriage frays. Their parents, Harsh and Sunita, favor Rahul, who appears to be the most mature in the family, upsetting Arjun, who struggles to make ends meet and write in his spare time. The brothers' complicated family dynamics come to light as they navigate their own troubled relationships, including Arjun's attraction to Tia Malik (Alia Bhatt), a young woman who becomes a confidante and potential love interest. As the family grapples with secrets and lies, the brothers ultimately take a family photo, titled "Kapoor & Sons, since 1921," as their grandfather passes away, leaving them to reconnect and find closure.
