The Two Jakes

The Two Jakes is a 1990 American neo-noir mystery film directed by and starring Jack Nicholson as J.J. "Jake" Gittes, a private investigator. The story follows Gittes as he becomes embroiled in a web of corruption and deceit involving a client, Julius "Jake" Berman, who is also the husband of Kitty Berman, a woman Gittes had previously encountered in a case. As Gittes delves deeper into the mystery, he is forced to confront his own past and the events surrounding his love interest, Evelyn Mulwray, who died ten years prior.
