Alien

The crew of commercial spaceship Nostromo intercepts a distress signal from a distant planet and discovers a derelict alien vessel containing hundreds of large eggs. When an explorer touches one, a creature inside springs out, attaches to his face, and eventually detaches itself. The crew soon realizes that they are being hunted by a deadly extraterrestrial creature. Captain Dallas is killed, followed by Jones the cat, Lambert, Parker, and Brett. Warrant officer Ripley takes command and discovers a secret company directive that orders Ash to return with the alien for study. As the situation spirals out of control, Ripley decides to initiate the ship's self-destruct sequence and abandon the Nostromo in an escape shuttle.
