A disturbed young embalmer, Francesco Koch (Kieran Canter), is driven to madness and murder after he dissects his recently deceased girlfriend, Anna (Cinzia Monreale), and then commits further atrocities with the help of his housekeeper, Iris (Franca Stoppi). As Francesco's grip on reality falters, a local undertaker and Anna's twin sister, Teodora, become entangled in the gruesome events. Ultimately, Francesco's descent into evil is sealed, but the film's dark conclusion leaves the audience with a haunting sense of unease.
