Cathedrals of Culture

Cathedrals of Culture offers six startling responses from iconic and very different buildings, examining human life from the unblinking perspective of a manmade structure. Meret Becker voices the narrator in the segment "The Berlin Philharmonic", while Simon Rattle plays himself. The film explores how each landmark reflects our culture and guards our collective memory, including the Halden Prison, which is described as the world's most humane prison, designed to rehabilitate its inmates through design and architecture.
