Les Misérables

In 19th-century France, Jean Valjean (Hugh Jackman), a man released from prison after serving a nineteen-year sentence for stealing bread, attempts to redeem himself by becoming an honest man. He is pursued relentlessly by Javert (Russell Crowe), a ruthless policeman tasked with capturing him again. The pursuit leads Valjean to care for Fantine's daughter, Cosette, and Marius Pontmercy, leading to a complex web of love, loss, and rebellion in the midst of the student revolutions in France.
