Take the Lead

A former professional dancer, Pierre Dulaine (Antonio Banderas), volunteers to teach dance in a New York public school system, initially clashing with his students' tastes. As he works with them, particularly Caitlin (Lauren Collins) and LaRhette (Yaya DaCosta), he inspires them to create a new style of dance. With the help of his students, Pierre succeeds in convincing the school to keep the dance program, and they go on to compete in a dance competition, where they showcase their teamwork, respect, and dignity.
