In occupied Korea at the start of the 20th century, a young medical student discovers the body of the son of a government official and hires detective Hong Jin-ho (Hwang Jung-min) to help him find the murderer before the police accuse him of the crime. As they investigate, they uncover a series of murders that lead them closer to the real killer. Hong Jin-ho, Joseon's first detective, must use his skills to unravel the mystery and clear the student's name.
