Steve Martin as Roger Cobb is an uptight lawyer, while Lily Tomlin's character Edwina Cutwater is a difficult, eccentric millionaire. The story follows their unusual body-swap situation, where Edwina's soul transfers into Roger's body, causing chaos and leading to a battle for control. Roger and Edwina eventually find a way to transfer Edwina's soul back into her own body, with the help of a culture-shocked mystic, Madolyn Smith Osborne as Peggy Schuyler.
