First Cow

In 1820s Oregon Country, a taciturn loner and skilled cook named Otis "Cookie" Figowitz travels west, meeting a Chinese immigrant named King-Lu, also seeking his fortune. They team up on a dangerous scheme to steal milk from the wealthy landowner's prized Jersey cow, the first in the territory. As they refine their recipe and add honey, their illicit business takes off, attracting a bidding war and the attention of the wealthy Chief Factor. However, their partnership is put to the test when Lu's solidarity falters, and their lives begin to unravel.
