Mak tae

"Mak tae" (2006) is a sports-comedy about a small, fictional Southeast Asian country's bid to play in the World Cup. Coach Pong, played by Jakrit Panichpatikum, is a star football player from Thailand who is hired by his wealthy aunt to assemble a ragtag team in a neighboring country, Arvee. The team, composed of players with various talents, is initially unsuccessful but eventually finds success under Coach Pong's unorthodox methods. Along the way, Coach Pong must balance his loyalty to his native country with his desire to see his team win, particularly in a final match against archrival Thailand.
