Mistress

"Mistress" is a 1992 American comedy-drama film about a struggling screenwriter, Marvin Landisman (Robert Wuhl), whose old script is read by a producer, Jack Roth (Martin Landau), and the search for financial backers begins. However, each potential investor has a mistress that they want to be cast in the film, forcing Marvin to make drastic changes to his script. Robert De Niro plays Evan M. Wright, a ruthless businessman with a mistress, while Laurie Metcalf plays Rachel Landisman, Marvin's long-patient wife. As the script becomes increasingly compromised, Marvin's marriage and artistic integrity are put to the test.
