An aspiring actor and his girlfriend handle life's frustrations, while his friend seeks fulfillment with a blonde. Joe, a busboy and aspiring actor, takes on a role in a Madonna video, meeting Madonna's body double, Tina. His girlfriend Mary, a cosmetician, struggles with harassment at work and her own desires, while their friend Bob lands a lucrative role on a soap opera, only to suffer from erectile dysfunction. As Joe navigates the cutthroat world of entertainment, he finds inspiration in his girlfriend, Mary.
