Crazy in Alabama

In 1965 Alabama, Melanie Griffith's character, Lucille Vinson, kills her abusive husband and sets out to Hollywood alone. Her nephew, Lucas Black's Character Name (Lucas Black) Peejoe Bullis, helps expose the town's corrupt Sheriff John Doggett (Meat Loaf), while Lucille becomes a minor movie star, earning the sympathy of the judge in her trial, where she was initially convicted of first-degree murder.
