Albert Brooks stars as a pushy and narcissistic filmmaker who convinces a dysfunctional Phoenix family to let him film their everyday lives for a full year. The family, the Yeagers, are subjected to cameras installed on walls and worn by a camera crew that follows them everywhere. As the project progresses, tensions rise and the family's dynamics are put to the test, leading to a series of awkward and uncomfortable moments.
