Valley of the Gods

In the 2019 film "Valley of the Gods," John Ecas (Josh Hartnett) finds solace in writing after his life collapses, and he becomes a biographer for the enigmatic trillionaire Wes Tauros (John Malkovich), who seeks to mine the Valley of the Gods for uranium. The film intertwines Navajo lore with Ecas' life, visualizing his writing as he navigates the complex relationships between Tauros, the Navajos, and the spirits of the land. The story is a critique of consumerism and a testament to the resilience of the Navajo people, with Dr. Hermann (John Rhys-Davies) serving as a voice of reason amidst the chaos.
