Una vita violenta

Una vita violenta tells the story of Tommaso (Franco Citti), a young man from a poor Rome suburb who commits crimes to make money with his friends. Tommaso's life takes a turn when he kills a man, is arrested, and sentenced to prison, but emerges a changed man who starts to think about his future and regrets his past. He falls in love with Irene (Serena Vergano), joins the Communist Party to please her father, and takes altruistic actions, but struggles with tuberculosis and his own inner spiritual health.
