Ex-con Otis Samuel Sr. or "O2" is determined to stay out of trouble and never leave his young son, Otis, Jr., after Otis arrives late to pick up Junior from school. When Otis' car is stolen from him at gunpoint, kidnapping Junior, he chases the car and gets into a gun battle, but to no avail. Otis teams up with Constance "Coco" Taylor, a woman who sells stolen suits, to retrieve Junior, and Lucky, Otis' unreliable cousin, who works for Big Meat, the leader of the Outlaw Syndicate, offers to help. Otis and Coco stage a series of bank robberies, intending to trigger a gang war that will hopefully eliminate both Big Meat and his men, allowing them to rescue Junior.
