The Island on Bird Street

"The Island on Bird Street" is a 1997 Danish produced drama film directed by Søren Kragh-Jacobsen, based on the novel of the same name. The movie tells the story of 11-year-old Alex (Jordan Kiziuk), an orphan who hides in the Jewish ghetto in Warsaw during WWII after his family is sent to a concentration camp. As he navigates the treacherous world of the ghetto, Alex must rely on his resourcefulness and determination to survive amidst poverty, starvation, and Nazi persecution.
