Une chambre en ville

Set against the backdrop of a workers' strike in 1955 Nantes, a young shipyard worker François Guilbaud (Richard Berry) falls in love with the middle-class daughter of his landlady, Édith Leroyer (Dominique Sanda), a woman who is unhappily married and becomes embroiled in a tragic love affair. As the strike intensifies, François' life is marked by violence and tragedy, ultimately leading to his fatal injury and Édith's devastating loss.
