Born in Evin follows filmmaker and actress Maryam Zaree as she searches for the violent circumstances surrounding her birth inside the notorious political prison of Evin in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. Maryam Zaree's quest to uncover the truth about her past is complicated by her own experiences with trauma and her difficulty in getting her parents, Kasra Zareh and Nargess Eskandari-Grünberg, to open up about their own experiences.
