The 24th

The 24th is a 2020 American historical drama film that tells the true story of the Houston riot of 1917, featuring Trai Byers as Cpl. William Boston, a member of the all-black 24th United States Infantry Regiment. The film explores the struggles faced by African American soldiers as they are subjected to racial discrimination by both the police force and the local white population in Houston, Texas. The resulting riot and violence ultimately lead to the deaths of 11 civilians and 5 policemen, and the execution of multiple soldiers for mutiny.
