The Life and Death of Colonel Blimp

Major-General Clive Wynne-Candy, played by Roger Livesey, is a veteran leader of the British Home Guard during World War II. The film's narrative is structured as an extended flashback, tracing Clive's life from his early career in the Boer War to his experiences in World War I and II. Along the way, Clive's relationships with three women - Edith, Barbara, and Angela "Johnny" Cannon - are woven throughout the story, as are his friendships with German soldiers, particularly Theo Kretschmar-Schuldorff, played by Anton Walbrook.
