Three Sisters

In the early 20th century, three sisters - Olga, Irina, and Masha - live in a small Russian town with their brother Andrei, who marries a provincial girl. The family dreams of their return to Moscow, where life is charming and stimulating. As time passes, Andrei settles into a life of lesser meaning, and the sisters find themselves longing for the sophisticated life. The arrival of an Army Colonel, Vershinin, brings some excitement, but ultimately, tragedy strikes, affecting the sisters' hopes and dreams.
