In 1956, aspiring filmmaker Colin Clark (Eddie Redmayne) secures a job on Laurence Olivier's production of The Prince and the Showgirl, starring Marilyn Monroe (Michelle Williams). While managing Marilyn's schedule, Colin becomes increasingly involved in her life, including her marriage to playwright Arthur Miller. As Marilyn struggles with her character and personal issues, Colin finds himself drawn to her, leading to a complex and platonic relationship between them. Alongside Marilyn's on-screen transformation, the film chronicles the real-life making of The Prince and the Showgirl, capturing the tumultuous life of Hollywood legend Marilyn Monroe during her time in London.
