Night Train to Lisbon

Raimund Gregorius (Jeremy Irons), a Swiss professor of philosophy, saves a young woman from leaping to her death and accompanies her to his school in Bern. She leaves without her coat, which Raimund finds with the address of a Portuguese bookstore where he purchases an obscure book by Amadeu de Prado. After reading the book, Raimund decides to embark on an adventure to find the author, which leads him to Lisbon and becomes entangled with the story of Amadeu's life, including his involvement in the resistance against the Salazar dictatorship.
