Pete Kelly's Blues

Pete Kelly's Blues 6.3
In 1927, jazz cornetist Pete Kelly (Jack Webb) and his Big Seven are the house band at the 17 Club, a speakeasy in Kansas City during Prohibition. When crime boss Fran McCarg (Edmond O'Brien) tries to extort them for protection, Kelly declines and is later visited by Ivy Conrad (Janet Leigh), a wealthy flapper with a reputation for hosting rowdy parties. As Kelly's band faces increasing pressure from McCarg, they are ultimately forced to capitulate, leading to the murder of one of their members, Joey Firestone. With the help of an unlikely ally, Kelly must then confront McCarg and bring him to justice in a violent showdown at the 17 Club.
