In this groundbreaking 1993 drama, Tom Hanks stars as Andrew Beckett, a gay lawyer living with AIDS who is fired from his prestigious law firm after discovering his condition. Refusing to accept defeat, Beckett teams up with homophobic lawyer Joe Miller (Denzel Washington), and together they take on the corrupt and prejudiced law firm in a courageous fight against AIDS discrimination and homophobia. As their unlikely friendship blossoms, courage overcomes prejudice, leading to a powerful courtroom drama that brought HIV/AIDS to the masses and paved the way for greater representation of LGBTQ+ stories in mainstream Hollywood.
