Pure Country

Dusty Chandler, played by George Strait, is a country music superstar struggling to find his true style and authenticity. On a walk-out from one of his over-the-top concerts, he discovers his roots in the small farm town where he grew up, reuniting with old friends like Earl Blackstock and meeting Harley Tucker, a woman who becomes the object of his affections. As Dusty navigates his feelings for Harley and confronts the superficiality of his own success, he must also contend with the manipulations of his manager Lula Rogers and the impersonation by her road crew member Buddy Jackson. Ultimately, Dusty finds redemption on stage, playing a heartfelt love song for Harley that wins her forgiveness.
