The Informers

The Informers is a 2008 American drama film that depicts a week in the lives of an assortment of socially alienated, mainly well-off characters in early 1980s Los Angeles. The film is based on Bret Easton Ellis's 1994 collection of short stories of the same name and is set amidst the decadence of the early 1980s. Graham Sloan (Jon Foster), the son of a rich, estranged couple, struggles with his relationships and sense of purpose, while Bryan Metro (Justin Long), a new wave rock singer, navigates the dark underbelly of the music industry. Other characters, including Christie (Amber Heard), a groupie with multiple lovers, and Jack (Brad Renfro), a young actor caught up in a gangland kidnapping plot, are also featured in the film.
