The Last Champion

Cole Hauser as John Wright, a former Olympic wrestler, returns home to a small town that has not forgiven him after years of addiction, scandal, and personal failure. He reluctantly reconnects with the local high school wrestling program and becomes the head coach, where he finds a new purpose in helping a talented but troubled wrestler, Michael Miller, played by Sean H. Scully, navigate his life and wrestling career. As John finds a way to redeem himself, he forms a genuine bond with Michael, who struggles with poverty, neglect, and personal demons. The season culminates in a dramatic state championship tournament match between Michael and Scott Baker, played by Randall Batinkoff, with Michael emerging victorious and finding a new sense of purpose thanks to John's guidance.
