Two outcast brothers, Gabriel (David Dencik) and Elias (Mads Mikkelsen), embark a journey to a remote island after learning they were adopted. They meet their biological father, Evelio Thanatos, a geneticist specializing in stem cell research, and discover a horrible truth about themselves and their relatives. The brothers, who have hare-lips and unattractive facial features, navigate a strange house with other outcasts, including Gregor, Franz, and Josef, who are also sons of Evelio.
