Naive Midwestern prep student Jonathan Ogner bonds with his more worldly roommate, Skip Burroughs, who takes the small-town boy under his wing. Skip urges Jonathan to seek out older women in Chicago, where he meets Ellen, who unfortunately turns out to be Skip's mother. The division between the friends deepens when a cheating scandal engulfs the school, and Skip tries to help Jonathan have a successful sexual encounter. He sends Jonathan to a club in Chicago to gain experience, where Jonathan meets Ellen and begins an affair with her, despite lying about his age.
