The Prowler, a 1981 American slasher film, follows college senior Pam MacDonald (Vicky Dawson) as she and her friends attend a graduation party in a coastal New Jersey town, only to be stalked and murdered by an apparent World War II veteran who killed his ex-girlfriend Rosemary Chatham in 1945. The film's use of a simple story to deliver a watchable and suspenseful experience is notable. As the night unfolds, Pam and her friends are targeted by a masked killer, who is eventually revealed to be Sheriff George Fraser, Pam's boyfriend and the town's deputy.
